Erica Cuni

Erica, a seasoned Trauma-Trained, Integrative, Nervous-system based Mental Health Therapist, has been in the field since 2006. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Connecticut State University in Business Management and Communications, Erica went on to obtain a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University. She’s a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in North Carolina (#20115) and Connecticut (#1685) and Certified Integrative Mental Health Provider. 

Over the past 19 years, Erica has sustained her deep-seated passion to help others find a life that they enjoy. She’s gained hands on experience in various roles, including in-home therapy for at-risk adolescents, clinical house manager at a residential facility for at-risk male adolescents, therapist at an inpatient detox facility, lead therapist at a residential treatment for adult males, school social worker (K-12), program supervisor and director at two children’s psychiatric clinics, and owner of a private practice.

Additionally, Erica is a former Clinical Professor and Adjunct Lecturer at her alma mater, Central Connecticut State University’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program, where she taught human development, dysfunctional family processes, intergenerational family processes, and couples therapy.

Erica is bringing her diverse knowledge, spitfire energy, and outside the box thinking to her role as Simply Teen’s Outpatient Clinical Director.

  • B.A. in Communications & Business Admin. from CCSU (4 years)

  • M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from CCSU (62-credits, 3 years, 3.9 GPA)

  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2014

  • Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP) – 32 CEU’s with annual renewal

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 Certificate (1 year, 114 CEUs)

  • Trauma Research Foundation’s Traumatic Stress Studies Certificate – includes courses in Neurobiology of Trauma (7 months, 71.5 CEUs)
