Lauren Capel

With over 15 years of experience in the field, Lauren Capel serves as the Clinical Director at Simply Teens. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Management from Howard University in Washington, DC, and obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.  Lauren is currently a Behavioral Health Doctoral Candidate specializing in integrated behavioral health care and executive leadership. Additionally, she serves as an Adjunct Professor and field instructor, teaching advanced MSW students.

Throughout her career, Lauren has held various roles in child welfare, mental health, executive leadership, and as an independent consultant. She specializes in trauma-informed care which she integrates into all aspects of her work.

At Simply Teens, Lauren is responsible for overseeing daily program operations, providing clinical supervision, implementing policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and driving program development. She has successfully leveraged her health administration and clinical expertise to grow human services organizations dedicated to improving the lives of others.

Outside of her professional commitments, Lauren enjoys traveling the world and cherishing time with her husband and two children.
